Solar Pumping System


Solar water pumping system is a stand-alone system operating on power generated by solar photovoltaic panels. A solar Photovoltaic water pumping system consists of a photovoltaic array mounted on a stand and motor pump set compatible with photovoltaic array.

The photovoltaic array converts the solar energy into electricity which is used for running the motor pump set. The pumping system draws water from the open well, bore well stream, pond, panel etc. The system components of solar photovoltaic water pumping system are solar photovoltaic panels, motor pump set, interface electronics, connecting cables & switches, support structure, tracking system & pipes etc.

A. Surface centrifugal mono block – pump system

The power generated by solar panels is used for operating DC surface centrifugal mono block pump set for lifting water from open well or water reservoir for minor irrigation and drinking water purpose. The system require a shadow free area for installation of Solar panels. This system is stand alone system operating for village water supply, live stock water supply to remote homes, and agriculture micro irrigation. These pumps are suitable for lifting and pumping water from maximum depth of 20 meter(Total Head)

B. Submersible Pump

The power generated by Solar Panel is used for operating solar submersible pump for lifting water from open well, water reservoir or tube wells for irrigation, and drinking water purpose. These pumps can be used in area where water level is available at a greater depth and where open wells are not available. The maximum recommended depth of these system could be 50 meter etc. (maximum Total head range 60-90 meters)
